Meet our friend, Spooky! If you notice an adorable little mascot around CostumeExpress.com this Halloween, that’s who it is.
Today, Spooky is here to share some top tips for having a fun and family-friendly Halloween, so that you and yours can get the most out of this year’s spookiest season.
For a fun family night, have a “superheroes’-night-in.”
After everyone dresses up as their favorite superhero, start off the night by building Superman’s “Fortress of Solitude” out of blankets. Enjoy some great superhero snacks, and finish off the evening by watching episodes of the “Justice League” cartoon, the latest Avengers flick, or an action-packed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
Learning is more fun in costume!
Your kids might want to be a knight because of the cool sword, a pirate because of the feathered hat, or an Egyptian because of the fun accessories, but once they’ve decided on their costume, encourage them to learn more about the character that they’re going to be playing this Halloween! The more they find out, the more fun they will have in their costumes. And who knows? They might unearth a love of history at the same time!
Make sure the littlest members of your family get in on all of the fun that Halloween has to offer!
They might not be able to eat candy yet, but that doesn’t mean your baby can’t enjoy trick-or-treating with the rest of the family. Choose a comfortable costume for your little one to ensure that they stay warm enough in cold temperatures and don’t overheat if you live in a warmer climate. For toddlers that are starting to walk, make sure their costume doesn’t drag on the ground so they won’t trip.
Coordinate your costume with your child’s and make some adorable memories this Halloween!
Defend the universe dressed as a cunning Jedi and little Yoda. Follow the yellow brick road as Dorothy and one of her cuddly, faithful friends. Or, pretend that you’re under the sea and swim along dressed as a pair of sweet sea creatures. The possibilities – and great photo opportunities – are endless!
No story is complete without a villain trying to ruin everyone’s happily ever after!
Dress up as the hero or heroine and villain from your favorite series for a cute costume combination! Disney movies are an especially good choice if you’re looking for the perfect pair of storybook costumes. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Ariel & Ursula
- Cinderella & her stepmother, Lady Tremaine
- Cruella De Vil & a Dalmatian puppy
- Peter Pan & Captain Hook
- Aurora & Maleficent
- Alice & The Queen of Hearts
